Badger Paper Mills, Inc. to Shutdown Fourdrinier Paper Machine.


PESHTIGO, Wis. -- Badger badger, name for several related members of the weasel family. Most badgers are large, nocturnal, burrowing animals, with broad, heavy bodies, long snouts, large, sharp claws, and long, grizzled fur.  Paper Mills, Inc. ), one of the nation's leaders in the manufacture of flexible packaging and specialty papers, today announced that it will indefinitely shutdown its uncoated freesheet Fourdrinier paper machine and associated equipment. This decision will result in the loss of approximately 100 jobs.

Badger will continue to operate its specialty Yankee paper machine and associated equipment located at its Peshtigo facility as well as its flexible packaging operation located at its Oconto Falls facility.

The decision will affect approximately 70 members of the USW USW Und So Weiter (German: and so on)

USW United Steel Workers
USW US Wheat Associates
USW Ultrasonic Welding
USW Ultra Short Wave
USW US West Telecommunications (stock symbol)
