Manning as a director of the company. The election was made by the company's Board of Directors at a regular meeting held today. Manning, 54, is the president of Universal Foods Corporation and a director of Firstar Trust Company. Prior to joining Universal Foods in 1987, Manning worked for W.R. Grace and Company where he held positions as vice president of operations, European Division; president of the Educational Products Division; president of the Real Estate Division; vice president - Corporate Technical Group; and president of the Ambrosia Chocolate Company Division. Prior to that, he was employed as a marketing representative for IBM Corporation and a management consultant with Cresap, McCormick & Paget. Manning holds a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, at Troy, N.Y.; coeducational; founded and opened 1824 as Rensselaer School; chartered 1826.
