) today announced a 6.7% increase in its quarterly common stock dividend to 8.0 cents per share Cents per share

 from 7.5 cents per share. The increased dividend is payable September 15, 2006 to shareholders of record September 1, 2006. The new annual dividend rate for the common stock is 32 cents per share. All amounts have been adjusted for the Company's 2-for-1 stock split effective June 15, 2006.

"This is our fourteenth consecutive year of increased dividend payments. The increase reflects our continued confidence in the long-term growth potential of Badger Meter," said Richard A. Meeusen, chairman, president and chief executive officer.

Badger Meter is a leading marketer and manufacturer of flow measurement and control technology, developed both internally and with other companies, as well as the leader in providing digital connectivity to leading AMR (1) (Adaptive Multi-Rate) A variable rate speech codec selected by the 3GPP for the 3G evolution of the GSM cellphone system (WCDMA). Using the Algebraic CELP (ACELP) compression technology, AMR provides toll quality sound at transmission rates from 4.75 to 12.  technologies. Its products are used to measure and control the flow of liquids in a variety of applications.
