STV's decision not to take a number of hit shows such as The Bill and Midsomer Murders Midsomer Murders is a popular British television drama series about murders that take place in the fictional English county of Midsomer. It is based on a series of crime novels by the author Caroline Graham and was originally adapted by Anthony Horowitz.  - apparently because of the cost involved - might backfire on them in the long run.

Most of these shows can still be viewed if you have Sky and switch to an English channel when they are being shown.

If enough viewers do so, STV STV Single Transferable Vote
STV Star Trek: Voyager
STV Samanyolu TV (Turkey)
STV Satellite Television
STV Scottish Television
STV Stranglethorn Vale (World of Warcraft computer game)
will lose advertising revenue as companies will find out there are far fewer viewers watching STV when these shows are on?
