Bad Boy Mowers to add 100 workers at Batesville.

Bad Boy Mowers of Batesville, which makes zero-turn mowers, announced plans last week to expand its operations and add about 100 workers. The company will expand in a 274,000-SF facility, formerly home to GDX Automotive, which closed last year. It said it will invest $2.5 million in the project.

Adding 100 workers will bring total employment to more than 270 people in Arkansas, the company said.

Bad Boy makes and stores its mowers in several facilities in Batesville and Melbourne. With the addition of the former GDX building, Bad Boy will have more than 570,000 SF of manufacturing and distribution space. The new facility will be used as a distribution facility for orders placed through Tractor Supply Co., one of Bad Boy's major clients.
