Now, Bad Boy Entertainment's star marquis will reinforce his positive non-violent theme and the powerful raw message that is so prevalent in his music. "No matter what anybody tells you," the much wiser ex-felon insists, "there is no glory in being locked up" he seriously stated. "And now, it's my turn to give back to the brothas' who gave me some direction for these rhymes and peace of mind".

Life Story, a supreme first effort, (he also credits some of his professional skills to his cell-mates) is Rob's vivid recreations of his autobiographical hard-knock life, outlining the gritty, hustle-laden details of his thirty years on the streets and behind bars. Rhyming became a mental oasis for him, an escape from the reality of his multiple incarcerations.

The album, which was released on March 7, 2000 with critical kudos, made an impressive debut on soundscan's #3 Top Current Album, #1 Top Current R&B Album and #1 Top Current Rap Album charts.
