Backing stand against violence.


A CHURCH service took place yesterday to mark White Ribbon Day.

The White Ribbon Campaign started in 1991 in Canada and is aimed at men working to end men's violence against women. The founders decided that wearing a white ribbon would be a symbol to personally pledge never to commit, condone or remain silent about domestic violence.

To show their support at the Llandaff Cathedral Llandaff Cathedral is the seat of the Bishop of Llandaff (of the Church in Wales), situated in the suburb of Llandaff in the city of Cardiff, the capital of Wales. It is dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Paul, and also to three Welsh saints: Dyfrig, Teilo and Euddogwy.  in Cardiff, Joyce Watson (Elizabeth) Joyce Watson is a Welsh Labour Party politician who has been a Member of the National Assembly for Wales for Mid and West Wales since 2007.

A mountain of a player, he is 6 ft 10 inches tall (the tallest Welsh rugby player ever) and weighed over 20 stone at his peak.  and First Minister Rhodri Morgan lit a candle Ms Watson said: "Men often look up to their sporting heroes and if they can see that players like Derwyn can make a stand against domestic violence then that will help to change the culture."
