Backing over teacher jobs.MOVES to encourage people to go into teaching have been welcomed, says a survey. A poll by Hays Hays, city (1990 pop. 17,767), seat of Ellis co., W central Kans.; inc. 1885. It is a rail, trade, and medical center in a grain, cattle, and oil area. Manufactures include electronic equipment, plastics, feeds, medical supplies, aircraft, and motorcycles. Education found 80% of people supported the efforts of the Government to get people to join the profession. But the survey also found doubts about the motives of those seeking to become teachers and concerns that many will leave when the economy picks up. Martyn
