Backing for delay on pool closures.

Byline: OWEN HUGHES
For the EastEnders character, see Owen Hughes (EastEnders).
Owen Edward Hughes (born: 1848 - died: 1932) was a former territorial level politician and Member of the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly from 1885 until 1888.

CAMPAIGNERS fighting proposals to close a leisure centre and two pools on Anglesey have backed a motion for a three-year investigation into the plans.

The council executive has said it will now reconsider its decision made on July 21 to close Beaumaris Leisure Centre and drain two pools on the island.

They have asked for a three-month investigation into the full running costs running costs npl [of business] → gastos mpl corrientes [of car] → gastos mpl de mantenimiento

and structural reports on the buildings before it is reviewed again.

This follows a huge public backlash against the plans.

Now Amlwch councillor Gareth Winston Roberts, a former council leader, is asking councillors to back him in a bid to defer any decision for three years.

Campaigner Meg Roberts, of Amlwch, who is fighting the proposals, has backed his motion.

She said: "I am calling on Plaid Cymru Plaid Cymru

members of the ruling group to support this motion and give this issue that affects the whole of Anglesey the time and attention it deserves. That is three years, not three months, which is not long enough.

"That would be the professional and proper way to handle this issue."

The motion from Cllr Roberts will go before an extraordinary meeting of Anglesey council on September 15."
