Backhoe Trenching Returns 6.6 G/T Over 5.75 Meters on Geodex's Armstrong Brook Gold Property.Business Editors VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 17, 2003 Geodex Minerals Ltd. is pleased to announce the results of a recent trenching and sampling program on their Armstrong Brook gold property, located near Saint John, New Brunswick Saint John[3] is the largest city in the province of New Brunswick and the oldest incorporated city in Canada. In 2006 the city proper had a population of 68,043. The population of the Census Metropolitan Area is 122,389. . At the "B" zone, located in the east-central part of the property, back-hoe trenching, stripping and washing exposed an area about 15 metres wide of strong quartz veining vein·ing n. It is characteristic of sericite schist. schist schist (shĭst), metamorphic rock having a foliated, or plated, structure called schistosity in which the component flaky minerals are visible to the naked eye. . Channel sampling outlined a zone assaying 6.6 g/t gold across a width of 5.75 metres. Within this zone is a higher grade section assaying 11.8 g/t gold over 2.9 metres. A small soil sampling grid was put in around the "B" zone trench area with samples collected every 10 metres on grid lines spaced 50 metres apart. The sampling results have outlined an anomaly with gold values greater than 10 ppb which measures about 200 metres by 200 metres. The anomaly is open in three directions and has gold values up to 179 ppb. Soil anomalies of copper, lead, barium and manganese are associated with the gold anomaly. Trenching at the "C" zone exposed a hematite-rich quartz vein up to four metres wide. Channel samples across the vein assayed up to 2.3 g/t gold over 2.0 metres. At the "A" zone, the trenching uncovered an area of about 60 square metres of intense quartz veining in schist. Anomalous gold values occur throughout this zone with values up to 5.2 g/t gold found in chip samples. Soil sampling at the "E" zone was done on a grid with samples collected every 50 metres on lines spaced 100 metres apart. The results show scattered gold anomalies covering much of the grid. Out of a total of 77 soil samples analysed, 34 had greater than 10 ppb gold with the highest value being 239 ppb gold. Due to a lack of outcrop in this area, the significance of these results is uncertain. Geodex is reviewing the sampling results in order to define targets for future trenching, soil geochemistry and diamond drilling Diamond Drilling is a highly specialized industry used for mineral exploration around the world.
