Back from the brink.Byline: Joanna Desira A bullying victim who was driven out of school and even considered taking her own life is now dishing out invaluable advice to students. Cleveland College of Art and Design Cleveland College of Art & Design is a further and higher education art and design college, based in the North East of England. The college draws its name from the former non-metropolitan county of Cleveland, operational from 1974 to 1996. student Jean Wilkinson has gained enough confidence to agree to be one of a team of mentors helping youngsters at the Rathbone Training Centre. Jean, from Linthorpe, helped Rathbone students in a T-shirt design project. The Middlesbrough-based Rathbone centre offers support and training for people experiencing disadvantage, and was where Jean studied English and maths after leaving school. The 17-year-old revealed she had even contemplated suicide while at school, but the brave teenager has turned her life around. She said: "I enjoyed it when I went to Rathbone. I had no confidence whatsoever because of the bullying at school. Rathbone student Scott Fowler Scott Fowler was the baritone vocalist with the Cathedral Quartet from 1991 through 1999. After the retirement of the Cathedrals, he co-founded Legacy Five along with former Cathedral pianist Roger Bennett, in which he sings lead. , 16, of Guisborough, is learning to become a chef and designed a T-shirt based on the Boro. He said: "I was going to join the Army but then I decided I wanted to become a chef. I came here for the qualifications and for confidence as well. "The design didn't turn out how I expected it to.
