Back Blue Brazil to keep up title chase.

Byline: Ian Wilkerson

Stirling v Cowdenbeath Stirling and Cowdenbeath have opened a five-point gap between themselves and the rest of the Second Division, but it could be the away side who triumph this afternoon.

That Albion have been able to forge a promotion challenge is impressive given the severe cash problems at the club, but, after a fine start to the campaign, they have been unable to sustain their flying form.

They have won just two of their last six league matches and needed a last-minute goal last week to see off strugglers East Fife East Fife may refer to:
  • The Eastern part of Fife, a council area in Scotland
  • East Fife F.C.
  • East Fife (UK Parliament constituency), 1885–1983
.

Fife put out a young team and would have won that match if they had taken some of the numerous chances they created and Stirling might not be as fortunate against the Blue Brazil.

Cowdenbeath are right in their stride, having beaten Dumbarton last week and they have dropped just two points in their last seven matches.

They have won their last three away matches without conceding and appear to be going from strength to strength.

Stirling, meanwhile, have failed to win their last three home matches and offers of 11-5 about Cowdenbeath appear generous.

Defeat against Morton today would leave them eight points behind Ton in third from bottom and staring at a scrap to avoid falling back into the Second Division.

However, their motivation to avoid such a scenario may be undone by their inability to get the job done.
