Former Eugene jazz vocalist Nancy King and her longtime piano partner, Steve Christofferson, will perform at 6 p.m. (dinner show) and 10 p.m. Nov. 24 at Bacari restaurant, 1210 Willamette St. A $10 cover will be charged.

His performing career began at age 14 with the Young Oregonians
 of the ensemble Oregon, among others.

King began collaborating with Christofferson in 1978. In 1993, they released a duo album, "Perennial," with Leroy Vinnegar, David Frishberg and Ralph Towner.

Among King's recent performances were a concert with Karrin Allyson in Chicago, with Christofferson and the Oregon Symphony, and with Elvis Costello and Deborah Harry in London's Royal Albert Hall.

Christofferson and King give concerts and teach at workshops around the world, all while maintaining a regular Tuesday gig in Portland at Jazz De Opus.

 by Cal Tjader, Bobby Hutcherson, David Friedman and Dave Samuels will be played by the Oregon Percussion Ensemble at 8 p.m. Monday in Room 198 of the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities.  Music Building. Tickets, available at the door, are $5 for general admission and $3 for students and senior citizens.

The Oregon Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of professor Charles Dowd, will play four vibraphones, five marimbas and more than 100 ethnic percussion instruments during the course of the concert.

Appearing with the ensemble will be Tjader's former bassist, UO professor emeritus Edwin Coleman; associate professor Steve Owen, jazz saxophone and flute; and adjunct instructor Don Latarski, jazz guitar.

The program includes seven jazz vibraphone arrangements, including Tjader's "Soul Sauce," Hutcherson's "Gotcha (jargon, programming) gotcha - A misfeature of a system, especially a programming language or environment, that tends to breed bugs or mistakes because it both enticingly easy to invoke and completely unexpected and/or unreasonable in its outcome. ," Samuels' "Rendezvous," Friedman's "Twenty Minutes off the Pavement," Pat Metheny's "Farmer's Trust," Metheny and Lyle Mays' "Minuano Six Eight" and Dowd's "El Camino Unreal."
