Sir William Lyons (1901-1985) was, with fellow motorcycle enthusiast William Walmsley, the co-founder in 1922 of the Swallow Sidecar Company, maker of motorcycle sidecars, and which became Jaguar Rally, which marks the birth of the founder of Jaguar. This year sees the centenary of the man who began the Jaguar story when he cofounded the Swallow Side Car Company on September 4, 1922, in Blackpool.
