Babson Enterprise Fund Reopens To New Investors.

KANSAS CITY, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 28, 1999--

Jones & Babson, Inc., distributor of the Babson funds family, today announced it has reopened Babson Enterprise Fund to new investors for the first time in over seven years.

In making the announcement, Lance James, portfolio manager of Babson Enterprise Fund said, "We believe that current market conditions have created capacity in the small-cap value market, which have not existed for some time. The attractive valuations which exist in the small cap arena provide us with tremendous opportunities. We typically invest in companies that are neglected by Wall Street, with sound fundamentals and the potential for earnings acceleration."

Babson Enterprise Fund originally opened in December, 1983 and was closed in January, 1992 due to limited capacity. The decision to reopen the fund came on expectations that the vast valuation disparity between large cap and small cap stocks should narrow. Small cap stocks are currently trading close to their lowest valuations compared to large cap stocks in over two decades. As of June 30, 1999 the fund had over $155 million in assets under management. The fund seeks long-term growth of capital by investing principally in a diversified portfolio of common stocks of smaller, faster-growing companies.

"Strategically, reopening Babson Enterprise Fund after many years of closure was the right thing to do considering the prospective shift to small caps," said Rui Moura, director of marketing at Jones & Babson. "We are ensuring our product line is poised for any major changes in the way people invest their money."

Jones & Babson is a subsidiary of Business Men's Assurance Company of America (BMA), a Midwestern financial services company. BMA is a member of the Generali Group of Trieste, Italy, a $70 billion company of the worldwide insurance and financial service providers.
