Babcock Power to Upgrade Fossil Boiler at Ameren Power Plant.

DANVERS, Mass. -- Riley Power Inc. (RPI), located in Worcester, MA, a subsidiary of Babcock Power Inc., based in Danvers, MA, announced today that it received an award from Ameren Corporation for the upgrade of a steam generator for its Duck Creek Unit 1 coal fired power plant in Canton, Illinois.

RPI's scope includes boiler modifications that will improve reliability, provide fuel flexibility and improve boiler performance on both Illinois bituminous and PRB coals. The project is valued in excess of $40,000,000 and consists of redesigning and replacing the superheater, reheater and economizer sections, combined with pulverizer modifications, to accommodate reliable PRB operation. The equipment is planned to be operational in the second half of 2007.
