Global Centers of Expertise Strengthen Knowledge Transfer Offerings

Baan is also announcing today three new Centers of Expertise (CoEs) which provide a global pool of technical, application, and business process specialists to assist customers, partners, and resellers worldwide. These centers are "virtual organizations," pooling the best application and technical talent across each geographic region. The three centers are based in the US (Americas), The Netherlands (EMEA) and India (Asia Pacific).

The CoEs are central to Baan's unique knowledge-transfer offerings, which have the two-fold purpose of increasing the customers ability to control implementation and on-going system refinement by achieving self-reliance, and improving the success rate of consulting partners. "Giving customers increased power over implementation and continuous improvement is fundamental to empowering a company to quickly renew itself by taking advantage of new market opportunities," said Pittman.

The CoEs are staffed by Baan professionals with extensive, specialized training in areas such as application functionality, information technology, Orgware, project management, and assisting in the establishment of customer competence centers.

CoE experts advise, plan, and consult with customers and consulting partners before, during, and after implementation. Additionally, the CoEs provide two-way information exchange between Baan Development and field consulting organizations, consulting partners, and customers.
