The Dwight D. Eisenhower Award of Excellence was developed by the U.S. Small Business Administration to recognize large business contractors that have excelled in their use of small businesses as subcontractors. This is the first time that BWXT Y-12 or any other large contractor in Oak Ridge has won this award. Ruddy said that he is delighted that BWXT Y-12 was selected for this prestigious award, which is "based on stellar performance in the socioeconomic program. It is the highest recognition you can get from the federal government for excelling in your small business program activities."
