BWIP HOLDING ANNOUNCES $7.35 MILLION CONTRACT FOR HELLFIRE II CONTROL SYSTEMS

 LONG BEACH, Calif., July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- BWIP Holding Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: BWIP), the parent company of BW/IP International Inc., today announced that the company's Fluid Controls Division has been awarded a $7.35 million contract from Martin Marietta Corp. to produce 3,946 pneumatic control sections for the Hellfire II missile. Deliveries will commence in March of 1994.
 The contract represents BW/IP's first production award for the U.S. Army's Hellfire II missile. The company's pneumatic actuation system controls the missile's aerodynamic fins.
 The contract was awarded under the terms of a long-term agreement between the two companies signed in 1991. BW/IP is the supplier to Martin Marietta for Hellfire and Longbow missile control sections under the agreement.
 The company previously supplied more than 7,000 Hellfire missile control sections to Martin Marietta between 1988 and 1990.
 In addition, BW/IP is working under a contract with Martin Marietta for delivery of Longbow missile control sections in 1993.
 BW/IP International Inc. is a worldwide supplier of advanced technology pump, seal and fluid control equipment and services. The Fluid Controls Division of BW/IP, located in Van Nuys, Calif., designs and produces actuation systems and components for aerospace and industrial markets. The company's Pump and Seal segment produces highly engineered pumps and pumping equipment, precision mechanical seals, seal systems and accessories.
