BUZZ-WORTHY 'BEEHIVE' GETS 5 NODS FROM L.A. CRITICS GROUP.

'Beehive," the 1960s musical that kicked off the new Valley Musical Theatre series at the El Portal Theatre, earned five nominations from the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle was founded in 1969. The musical, scheduled to play a return engagement at the El Portal in April, took nominations in the categories of director; ensemble; musical direction; choreography; and hair, wigs and makeup.

Other multiple nominees include Circle X's "The Brothers Karamazov" at Inside the Ford Amphitheatre (seven nominations), "Bach at Leipzig" at South Coast Repertory South Coast Repertory (SCR) is a professional theatre company located in Costa Mesa, California.

SCR, founded in 1964 and continuing today under the leadership of Artistic Directors David Emmes and Martin Benson, is widely regarded as one of America’s foremost
