BUYER STEPS IN, WILL RELOCATE OLD HOME.Byline: Dana Bartholomew Staff Writer RESEDA - What may be the oldest home in Reseda avoided the bulldozer Monday when a Van Nuys man and his sons offered to relocate the house. Stephen Rumph and his two sons, Jagg and Stephen Jr., bought the 1916 Craftsman-style farmhouse for $4,000 from a developer Monday and sent the bulldozer operator on his way. The family is seeking a fast-track permit from the city to move the home at 6725 Yolanda Ave. before construction begins this week on five new houses. ``We're delighted,'' said the senior Rumph, a studio musician and actor as he whisked debris off the roof. ``My 22-year-old son is going to move in to it. We're just so excited about this. It's been a long time coming. Rumph, 54, said it will cost more than $20,000 to move the home to a half-acre family lot at 19030 Strathern St. Rumph said he'd offered to purchase the home from D&S Development Corp. of Tarzana two months ago, but the tenant refused to let him in. The tenant disputes the account.
