BUSINESS life: Tailored package eases training burden; BUSINESS AWARDS.

A FLOOD of national and international regulations in the fields of health and safety and the environment over the past decade has had a major impact on businesses.

One Coventry company is in the forefront of developing intranet training and information packages that take the burden of ensuring staff have the knowledge to implement the new rules away from businesses.

Industrial consultant Pro Enviro, of Wilsons Lane, is a finalist in the Evening Telegraph's Business Innovation Award, sponsored by Powergen.

Established in 1993, Pro Enviro has spent the past few years developing health and safety and environment training programmes which can be tailored to a company's needs and meet current worldwide standards.

Chief executive Nersi Salehi said: "The decisions from the three world environment conferences over the past few years have major consequences for business.

"Our packages mean employees have instant access to the training they need, with a mentor available 24 hours a day. This avoids the expense and inefficiency of employees leaving the workplace to acquire vital training."
