Peter J. Harrington of Holden has been named partner at Bowditch & Dewey LLP, a law firm with offices in Worcester, Framingham and Boston. His practice will focus on higher education, health care and medical and scientific research and include advising colleges and universities as well as nonprofits. He previously was director of research compliance and regulatory affairs at Harvard Medical School and served in senior in-house counsel roles for the University of Vermont, UMass Memorial Health Care and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Mr. Harrington is an adjunct faculty member at Boston College Law School and Graduate School of Education.

Michelle T. Desorcy of Millbury has been promoted to operations manager for Aquarion Water Co.'s Millbury and Oxford operations. She joined the Millbury and Oxford operations in 1999 as a utility clerk. She later served as administrative services manager and most recently was interim operations manager for Aquarion's Hampton, N.H., system.

Scott D. Visbeek has been promoted to vice president of Sterling Associates, a subsidiary of Whitinsville-based UniBank. He is responsible for credit and underwriting management for marine, recreational vehicle and manufactured housing loans. He began his career with UniBank in 2001 as assistant vice president and commercial lending officer and joined Sterling Associates as assistant vice president, credit and underwriting manager in 2002. He received a bachelor's degree from Westfield State College.

Jill Green Lebow of Worcester has been named director of employee relations and Summit ElderCare recruitment for Fallon Community Health Plan of Worcester. She previously was senior employee relations specialist at Abbott Laboratories. She is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and received a law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law.

Ryan B. Clark of Worcester has been promoted to senior account executive, corporate sales for the Worcester Sharks. He previously served as account executive and later as senior account executive. He previously worked in similar roles for the Fresno Falcons. He is a graduate of Springfield College.

Ruta Convent of Uxbridge has been named regional lending manager at the Bank of Canton's Auburn mortgage center. She previously served as mortgage originator for AAA Southern New England Bank and is a 27-year veteran of the banking industry. She is a graduate of Assumption College.
