The Worcester law firm of Hassett & Donnelly announces that Paul S. Rainville has been made a partner. Mr. Rainville, of Marlboro, joined the firm in 2005 as an associate practicing in the areas of civil, business and construction litigation; premises and products liability; and municipal liability litigation. He earned a law degree from New England School of Law and a bachelor's degree from Providence College. He also attended the Universite de Nice in France.

Ken Pickering has been named president of Foster Corp. of Putnam, Conn. He joined the company in 2003 and served as vice president/chief operating officer. Mr. Pickering, of Medfield, previously was director of supply chain and manufacturing at Aprilis Inc. and for 25 years was a key manufacturing manager/director at Polaroid Corp. He is a graduate of Bridgewater State College and received a master's degree from Lesley University. Foster Corp., with major facilities in Las Vegas and Putnam is a polymer technologies company serving the medical device, pharmaceutical manufacturers and biotechnology industries.

Andrew Berman of Millville has joined Worcester-based AllCom Credit Union as assistant vice president of lending. He brings 15 years of financial service industry experience, most recently serving nine years at Direct Federal Credit Union in Needham. He graduated from the University of Rhode Island.

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. announces that David L. McIntyre has joined the firm as institutional practice leader. Mr. McIntyre, of Ashby, brings more than 25 years of consulting experience, having recently served as the lead strategist in the development of the concept plan for the main venue that will host the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He received a bachelor's degree from Northeastern University. VHB, which provides integrated transportation, land development and environmental services, has offices throughout the East Coast and plans to open at Worcester's Union Station in 2008.

Corporate Environmental Advisors announces the appointment of Andrew S. Shelby as manager of business development. Mr. Shelby, of Worcester, joins CEA from Charter Environmental. He previously spent 14 years at GZA GeoEnvironmental. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Maine at Orono and is a certified hazardous materials manager. CEA is a full-service environmental management firm with headquarters in West Boylston.

Paul E. Daoust and Co. PC announces the election of certified public accountant Joseph J. Szela as a shareholder in the 50-year-old public accounting firm. Mr. Szela, of Oxford, graduated from Bryant University and has worked in a variety of specialties at the firm, which has offices in Charlton and Sturbridge.
