BUSINESS NOTES SETTLEMENT SET OVER MOVIE PIRACY.

ENCINO - A 20-year-old has agreed to pay $110,000 to settle a civil lawsuit accusing him of illegally selling movies over the Internet, the Motion Picture Association of America said Wednesday.

Antonio Daniele III of Chicopee Chicopee (chĭk`əpē), city (1990 pop. 56,632), Hampden co., SW Mass., at the confluence of the Chicopee and the Connecticut rivers; settled c.1641, set off from Springfield 1848, inc. as a city 1890. It includes the villages of Willimansett, Fairview, Aldenville, Chicopee Center, and Chicopee Falls., Mass., was also prohibited from selling or distributing unauthorized videotapes.

Daniele advertised copies of movies, some of which were still in theaters, on Internet newsgroups. When confronted, he signed an agreement to stop the sales but was caught again in October 2000, leading to the lawsuit.

Two firms partner to promote iPrice

CALABASAS - Informa Research Services Inc. and Farin & Associates Inc. +said Wednesday that they are partnering to promote a retail pricing model, known as iPrice.

The venture allows the two companies to market the iPrice software developed by Farin & Associates. The software will have pricing data provided by Informa Research Services.

Lighting firm sold for $12.6 million

BURBANK - Four Star Lighting Inc., a subsidiary of Matthews Studio Equipment Group, said Wednesday that it has completed the sale of its operation to Four Star Acquisition Company LLC for $12.65 million paid in cash on closing.

Four Star rented theatrical and industrial lighting equipment. The sale was completed May 31.

Matthews filed for bankruptcy in April 2000 and had been in the business of supplying traditional lighting, grip, transportation, generators, camera and other equipment to entertainment producers through its worldwide distribution network.
