CAMARILLO - California Amplifier Inc. said it has filed suit in U.S. District Court against Andrew Corp. for alleged infringement on a patent related to simultaneous two-way microwave communication.

California Amplifier makes microwave equipment used primarily with satellite video and terrestrial broadband applications.

WASHINGTON - The Navy awarded Litton Industries Named after inventor Charles Litton Sr., Litton Industries was a large defense contractor in the United States, bought by the Northrop Grumman Corporation in 2001.  subsidiary Ingalls Shipbuilding Inc., of Pascagoula, Miss., a $105 million contract Wednesday to repair the USS Cole, the destroyer that was attacked by terrorists last fall in Aden, Yemen.

In a brief announcement, the Pentagon said the work will be performed at the Ingalls shipyard, where the Cole was built.

The repair work is expected to be completed in February 2002, the Pentagon said.

Hilton Hotels sells millions in notes

BEVERLY HILLS - Hilton Hotels Corp. on Wednesday completed the sale of $300 million worth of 10-year senior unsecured notes to pay off debt.

The notes, rated Baa3/BBB-, carry a coupon of 8.25 percent and have a maturity date of Feb. 15, 2011.

American to begin Los Cabos flights

The airline will serve the route with 129-seat Super 80s.

Flight 335 will depart LAX at 8 a.m. and arrive in Los Cabos at 10:19 a.m.

From Los Cabos, Flight 336 will depart at 11:09 p.m. and arrive at 1:33 p.m., Los Angeles time.

AT&T switching signals in spinoff

 - AT&T plans to keep up to $3 billion worth of stock in its wireless business when it spins off that operation as an independent company.

The latest twist in AT&T's complex breakup plan is designed to help the company pay off more of its huge debt load, which peaked at nearly $62 billion in the fall, the company.

The change in plans, announced Wednesday, means that AT&T's shareholders will receive fewer shares of AT&T Wireless Group in the spinoff.

AT&T currently owns about 84 percent of the special ``tracking'' stock created last year to represent the performance of wireless business. Under the original breakup plan announced in October, all of those shares were to be distributed to AT&T investors. The company still plans to distribute the AT&T Wireless shares.
