Broadband center to be established

CALABASAS - Alcatel Internetworking Inc. and Syracuse University's School of Information Studies will establish the Center for Excellence in Broadband Applications. The center will evaluate, test and demonstrate advanced telecommunications technologies and applications that would benefit the public sector.

As part of the agreement, Calabasas-based Alcatel will provide a $200,000 grant to establish the center. In addition, Alcatel will provide advanced broadband equipment.
