BUSINESS NOTES ALLIANT SOFTWARE NEARS NEW RELEASE.


Woodland Hills-based REAL Software Systems Inc. said Tuesday that it will deliver the latest release of its Alliant software to Metro-Goldwyn- Mayer Studios to manage its profit participation and royalty agreements with talent, content providers and distribution partners.

The software is already being used by BBC BBC
 in full British Broadcasting Corp.

Publicly financed broadcasting system in Britain. A private company at its founding in 1922, it was replaced by a public corporation under royal charter in 1927.
 Worldwide in London to handle a variety of royalty and profit participation requirements.

The company says Alliant is flexible enough to help royalty and licensing departments handle high volumes of data easily.

Toy seller to open at Farmers Market

 Schwarz, a high-end toy specialty retailer, will open a flagship store at The Grove at Farmers Market. The company has leased 25,000 square feet in the Caruso Affiliated Caruso Affiliated is a real estate development company in California, U.S.A.. It is headed by Rick Caruso.

It is known particularly for building higher-end outdoor shopping centers.

WellPoint and Cerulean are working to close the transaction as soon as possible and expect to complete the merger within the next few days.

Priceline to offer enhanced loans

Priceline.com said Tuesday that it will enhance its mortgage service so borrowers can get the lowest possible interest rates.

Under the new service, borrowers will get at least the lowest rate when an application is made, but if rates fall before the loans close they could receive the lower figure. Previously, the rate at application was the lowest possible rate.

The company, which allows customers to name their price for airline tickets, rental cars, hotel rooms and other services, has struggled amid increased competition, including a plummeting stock price and the failure of its online grocery and gasoline service, WebHouse Club.
