Most sectors recorded employment gains for the month, but those were largely offset by declines in government, manufacturing and mining, the EDD's Bill Freed said.

The motion picture sector recorded some of the strongest growth, adding 7,600 jobs. The business services sector grew by 2,800 jobs, while the number of jobs in wholesale and retail trade grew by 2,900.
