BUSINESS NOTES : DEALS.

Franklin Telecom Corp. in Westlake Village and DCI Telecommunications Inc. in Fairfield Conn. have established their first East Coast Internet Service Provider as part of their recently announced agreement to take a 15 percent position in each other and DCI's acquisition of half of Franklin Datacom Inc., a Franklin Telecom subsidiary. The East Coast Internet Service Provider site will be operated by FNET, a provider of Internet access options and services.

Biopool International Inc. in Ventura has retained two investment banking firms, Commonwealth Associates and HealthCare Capital Advisors, to evaluate and finance one or more acquisitions. Commonwealth Associates is an investment banking firm specializing in the high-technology and health care industries. New York-based HealthCare Capital provides corporate financial advisory services to public and private health care companies. Biopool International develops and manufactures test kits to assess blood-related disorders.

N.U. Pizza Holding Corp. in Van Nuys has agreed to acquire the operating Numero Uno Restaurant in Thousand Oaks. Earlier this month, the company acquired the Numero Uno Restaurant in North Hollywood, California. The two acquisitions are expected to add a total of more than $1 million to the Company's annual revenue and increase profits by more than $150,000. N.U. Pizza Holding also is pursuing two other existing franchises.

Developments

Golden Systems Inc. has settled its lawsuit against its power supply rework contractor. The Simi Valley-based electronics firm filed the suit in 1995 over quality and workmanship issues in reworking power supply units rejected in December 1994 by Golden's largest customer at the time. The specific terms of the settlement are confidential.

Advanced Laser Technologies in Moorpark has been named a Technological Innovation finalist for 1996 by Discover Magazine for its development of a digital video display, the Thinline, a laser-driven, narrow-profile, digital video display monitor for television and computer.

RUSNAK/Westlake BMW sponsored Donna Pierson as an Olympic Torch bearer as it passed through the Los Angeles area over the weekend. Pierson is vice president of the Castle Hill retirement center.

Moves

AML Communications Inc. has completed its move into a 25,000-square-foot manufacturing, administrative and technical support facility in Camarillo. Increased demand for the firm's cellular equipment prompted the move from its previous 7,500-square-foot facility. AML Communications designs, manufactures and markets amplifiers, repeaters and related products for the cellular and other communications markets.

Earnings

LTC Properties reported net income of $5.46 million (29 cents) for the first quarter ending March 31, compared with $4.72 million (26 cents) for the like quarter a year ago. Revenue for the quarter for the Oxnard-based real estate investment trust totaled $12.36 million vs. $7.51 million.

Pacific Crest Capital Inc. reported net income of $711,000 (24 cents a share) for the first quarter ending March 31, compared with $588,000 (22 cents) for the like quarter a year ago. Total assets for the Agoura Hills-based financial institution holding company rose to $286.9 million during the first quarter, up 10.7 percent from Dec. 31.
