BUSINESS LIFE: Teamwork helps firm pick up big prize.

A COVENTRY firm played a key role in a Stratford landscaping firm winning a major prize.

Wilmcote-based Rock & Water Landscape Co took the silver award in the landscaped garden category at the BBC's Gardeners' World Live show at the NEC (NEC Corporation, Tokyo, www.nec.com, www.necus.com) An electronics conglomerate known in the U.S. for its monitors. In Japan, it had the lion's share of the PC market until the late 1990s (see PC 98).

NEC was founded in Tokyo in 1899 as Nippon Electric Company, Ltd.
.

Rock & Water Landscape put together a mixture of waterfalls, streams, paving as well as lime green and deep red plants to win the award.

The team needed help, however, from Torrington Avenue firm Clements Plant and Tool Hire. It supplied a five-tonne Bobcat Excavator to help with some of the bigger rocks and stones, some of which weighed up to 2 tonnes.

Jack Bartholomew, director of Rock and Water Landscape, said picking up the silver award was a great achievement.

He said: "The BBC Gardeners' World BBC Gardeners' World is a British gardening magazine owned by the BBC containing tips for gardening from presenters Monty Don and Carol Klein. The magazine often has offers on plants, free supplements and giveaways and gave away a free calendar with the December issue.  Live show is the equivalent to the Chelsea Flower Show The Chelsea Flower Show is a garden show held each year on five days in May by the Royal Horticultural Society in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in Chelsea, London, England. It is the most famous such show in the United Kingdom, and part of London's summer social season. , so to win an award was something special.

"The team created a great piece and we were delighted with the end result.

"However, we couldn't have moved some of the bigger rocks without the help of Clements."
