Hampton Brook Development has just purchased a 0.5 acre site at Capability Green in Luton after undertaking extensive research in the area which revealed a high number of successfully completed office developments but none that offered smaller self-contained accommodation with a strong corporate identity.

The company has now submitted a planning application to construct two two-storey office properties, each covering 5,188 sq ft which have been designed to complement the surrounding architectural styles.

Each property will be fitted internally to a high specification to include full air-conditioning and an impressive glass reception area. Good on- site car parking will also be provided.

Angus Blair, joint managing director of Hampton Brook Developments, said: "Having successfully developed office buildings such as the Scottish and Newcastle headquarters of 115,000 sq ft and around 100,000 sq ft of similar schemes in the Northamptonshire area including Travis Perkins' and MacIntyre Hudson's headquarters. We are now keen to acquire land for comparable office schemes further south along the M1 corridor with Luton being the first.

"We hope to commence construction of these buildings in early November, depending on a successful planning application with completion scheduled from May 2003.

North Rae Sanders acquired the land for Hampton Brook Developments earlier this year and has now been instructed as joint marketing agents with Lambert Smith Hampton to offer the properties on a freehold or leasehold basis.
