The Minority Business Group, which is awarding a total of $12,000 to six county students, is one of several organizations that provides scholarships through the Ventura County Community Foundation.

But they wanted someone who's focused and knows what they want. They see the scholarship as an investment in you.''

And Hsu knows what she wants.

From her involvement in the Youth Commission, Hsu has decided to get involved in public policy.

``I really, really like government, just watching legislation go through,'' Hsu said. ``I want to be a part of it.''

Hsu plans to major in business at UC Berkeley and wants to get a master's in business from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (body, education) University of Pennsylvania - The home of ENIAC and Machiavelli.
