Levi-Straus & Co. has contributed $5,000 and Abbott Virology virology, study of viruses and their role in disease. Many viruses, such as animal RNA viruses and viruses that infect bacteria, or bacteriophages, have become useful laboratory tools in genetic studies and in work on the cellular metabolic control of gene expression  $1,000 to the HIV HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), either of two closely related retroviruses that invade T-helper lymphocytes and are responsible for AIDS. Giving $500 each to the alliance are the Oregon Country Fair The Oregon Country Fair (OCF) is a three-day fair that takes place yearly beginning on the Friday of the second weekend in July in Veneta, Oregon, approximately 15 miles west of Eugene, with an attendance of approximately 45,000 over the three day period, with attendance peaking , Arlie & Co., Footwise the Birkenstock Store, PeaceHealth, IB Roof Systems and Pacific Continental Bank. Contributing $250 is Track Town Pizza. The contributions are to be used to stage the alliance's 18th annual HIV awareness-raising event, the 2004 RiverWalk and RiverRun on May 29.

 Center received the following grants for its Families with Special Needs Program: $5,000 from the Chambers Family Foundation; $1,840 for preschool classroom supplies from the Fred Meyer Foundation; $10,000 for transportation services from Spirit Mountain Community Fund; $500 from Jones & Roth PC; $1,300 from Pacific Benefit Consultants; and $1,000 from the Eugene Downtown Lions Club.

The Siuslaw Watershed Council has received the following donations for its Riparian riparian adj. referring to the banks of a river or stream. (See: riparian rights)  Restoration Project: native plants worth $2,100 from Balance Restoration Nursery; trees worth $1,600 from Roseburg Forest Products Roseburg Forest Products is one of the largest privately wood products company in the United States. Based in Roseburg, Oregon, Kenneth Ford founded the company in 1937. It was originally named Roseburg Lumber and operated mills throughout Western Oregon.  Co.; and native plants worth $1,300 from Doak Creek Nursery.

 has received a donation of more than $3,000 from Safeway Food & Drug stores in the local district. The donation is in addition to $2,200 raised for Greenhill by employees at the Coburg Road and River Road Safeways in Eugene. The donations are to be used for operation of the humane society.

The Eugene Kiwanis Foundation has received a donation of $500 from the Allstate Foundation's Agency Hands in the Community award. The gift was made in the name of local Allstate agent Jim Rodeen, who was honored for his commitment to community volunteerism.

The Weyerhaeuser Company Foundation has awarded a total of $60,000 in grants to five local or statewide nonprofit agencies. BRING Recycling in Eugene was given $25,000 for its Planet Improvement Center project; SOLV SOLV Stop Oregon Litter & Vandalism (state program sponsoring beach cleanups, etc.)
SOLV Save Our Little Village (St. Petersburg Beach, FL) 
 was given $25,000 for its statewide Down by the Riverside environmental cleanup program; Oregon Trout was given $5,000 to expand its Salmon Watch environmental education program; the Western Rivers Girl Scout Council received $3,000 for its Every Girl, Everywhere outreach program; and the Lane Business Education Compact was given $2,000 for a student-based greenhouse nursery project at McKenzie High School in Blue River.
