India Partners, an international faith-based relief and development agency located in Eugene, recently received $5,000 from the Riverside Foundation, based in Warrenton, Va. The grant will be used to help a vocational training program for people with physical disabilities in India. The group also received $15,000 from the Patella patella (pətĕl`ə): see kneecap.  Fund, based in Newark, Del., which will be used to help purchase a vehicle to transport social service teams to rural villages in India. And the group received $2,500 from the Central Lutheran Foundation, also based in Eugene. The grant will be used for general purposes.

The group's Operation School Bell Project, which provides school clothes to needy students in the Eugene area, received the following donations: Chambers Family Foundation, $5,000; Robert Brady Charitable Trust The arrangement by which real or Personal Property given by one person is held by another to be used for the benefit of a class of persons or the general public. , $3,000; Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation, $10,000; Herbert A. Templeton Foundation, $7,500; Spirit Mountain Community Fund, $5,000; Meyer Memorial Trust, $10,000.

The Lane County School District received $82,000 from Sterling Savings Bank savings bank, financial institution that, until recently, performed only the following functions: receiving savings deposits of individuals, investing them, and providing a modest return to its depositors in the form of interest. , based in Spokane. The Oregon Pacific Chapter of the American Red Cross American Red Cross: see Red Cross.  recently received the following donations: Buley Dental Laboratory, $500; Willagillespie Community Center, $1,000; Vanguard Charitable Endowment Program, $2,016; Gateway Residential Care, $10,000; DR Johnson Lumber Co., $500; Fashion Expressions-For all Occasions, $959; Cow Creek Tribe of the Umpqua Indians, $1,000; Eugene Airport Rotary Club, $1,000.

Sheldon High School's video and TV broadcasting department received $10,000 from the Chambers Foundation for computers and software for editing and other projects.
