BUSINESS EXPO SET THIS WEEKEND EVENT AT COLLEGE OF THE CANYONS.

VALENCIA - This year's Chamber of Commerce Business Expo will host more than 140 companies from the Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. Six Flags (NYSE: SIX) is the world's largest chain of amusement parks and theme parks and is headquartered in New York City. There are 20 such parks run by Six Flags.

Organizers say the event is not only a chance for local companies and vendors to gain exposure, but also for the community to learn about the plethora of small businesses that continue to multiply throughout the valley.

The Chamber of Commerce is hosting the expo at College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation.  this year, where there will be live entertainment along with food from more than 30 different local restaurants.

``Nothing's better than the touchy-feely, personal one-to-one handshake, and that's what the expo is for,'' Johnson said.

Gary Choppe, owner of Creative Image Photography and a past chamber president agreed with Johnson.

``All of our vendors can come together in one location,'' Choppe said. ``What it will do is give people a chance to see what local businesses are out here, where otherwise they would have had to go from shopping center shopping center, a concentration of retail, service, and entertainment enterprises designed to serve the surrounding region. The modern shopping center differs from its antecedents—bazaars and marketplaces—in that the shops are usually amalgamated into  to shopping center. Here it is showcased under our big white tents.''

The Lennar Corp., which recently purchased The Newhall Land and Farming Co., is one of the major sponsors of the expo.

The event, which will be in the College of the Canyons parking lot, will go from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
