People

Laurena Whitwer has been promoted to vice-president of Pacific Continental Bank. Whitwer has been an employee with the bank since 1997. She will continue her duties as director of interna 1/4 l audit. She works in the bank's administrative offices in downtown Eugene.

Dave McAndrews is the new managing partner at RV Corral. McAndrews has 10 years of RV management experience. He joins current owners, Steve Christofferson, Jerry McCall and Rick Neet, who have operated the business since 1988.

Dr. Donald Yarbrough, a bariatric surgeon, joins the Oregon Bariatric Center at Sacred Heart Medical Center. Yarbrough is a board-certified general surgeon in practice full-time with Northwest Surgical Specialists in Eugene and part-time with the Oregon Bariatric Center. He earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and completed his general surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. He completed a laparoscopic bariatric surgery fellowship and was a clinical instructor of gastrointestinal surgery at the University of Alabama before moving to Eugene.

Dr. Aaron Pardini, an endocrinologist, has joined PeaceHealth Medical Group's Diabetes, Endocrine & Metabolism Services at the Hilyard Street clinic. Pardini graduated from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and a clinical and research fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Washington.

Dr. Hoang Nguyen, a cardiothoracic surgeon, has joined the staff of Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute and has been appointed to the medical staff at Sacred Heart Medical Center. Nguyen is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and completed general surgery residency at Marshfield Clinic/Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, Wis. She also completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. Most recently, she was chief of cardiovascular surgery at Lovelace Sandia Medical Center in Albuquerque, N.M.

Hole in the Wall BBQ and owners Richard and Linda Becker received the Governor's Community Service Award "Good Neighbor" honor. The restaurant and the Beckers were nominated for the award by Mike Bellotti, University of Oregon football coach, for their support of Bellotti's Muscular Dystrophy Association Tailgate Classic Banquet.

Landsman Studios, owned by artist Tamaris Landsman, has moved to a new studio at 245 Blair Blvd., Studio B. Landsman specializes in hand-made mosaic mirrors.
