Maryjo Williams Byrnes has joined the Eugene branch office of Smith Barney as a financial consultant.

The Eu- gene native has 22 years of experience in sales and marketing, including 11 years as a technology consultant and owner of her own business.

Mike Clark, formerly president of Marketing Consultants Inc., has joined CAWOOD, a Eugene marketing and advertising agency, as director of client services. Clark will work with new clients and manage existing accounts. Prior to opening his own agency, Clark sold print, radio and TV advertising.

Dr. Beanna Buxton, a veterinarian, has joined the McKenzie Animal Hospital in Springfield. Buxton, who received her degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2005, specializes in avian and exotic medicine, surgery and companion pet preventative medicine.

Satre Associates, P.C., a Eugene consulting firm specializing in planning, landscape architecture and environmental resources, has hired two new land use planners.

Michael Howard previously worked as an intern for the city of Medford. Tim Shinabarger is a former reporter who served internships with the Springfield Planning Department, Lane County Community and Economic Development Department, and the University of Oregon Planning, Public Policy, and Management Department.

The list is based on an analysis by the firm's equity research department that identifies some of the top performing small- cap banks and thrift stocks in the nation. Sandler O'Neill & Partners is a full-service investment banking firm to the financial industry.

The Base Area No. 2 Hospital Guild, which operates the gift shop at Sacred Heart Medical Center, has elected new officers. They are: Pat Cellers, president; Noje Shepard, vice president; Helen Walsh, recording secretary; Connie Victor, corresponding secretary; Christa St. George, treasurer; Shirley Davidson, assistant treasurer; and Lois Mosier, immediate past president.
