John Simpson has joined Satre Associates PC in Eugene as landscape architecture manager. He will provide project management, quality control and client communication. Simpson previously served as planning and parks services director with Bend Metro Park and Recreation District in Bend.

The Society of Prevention Research recognized the following Oregon Social Learning Center research scientists: John Reid and Gerald Patterson received the SPR Presidential Award for their contributions to the development of behavioral parent training; Charles Martinez Jr. received the Community, Culture and Prevention Science Award for his contribution to the field of prevention science in the area of community and culture; and Marion Forgatch received the Friends of the Early Career Preventionists Network Award for her support of early career prevention researchers.
