Pearl Buck Center in Eugene has hired Helen Nahoopii as a business developer to manage existing accounts and provide information to the business community about the Center's production facility.

James Workman has joined Moss Adams, LLP, as a partner in the Eugene office. Workman has more than 12 years of public accounting experience working with clients in forest products, manufacturing and distribution.

McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center has hired Paul Rotondo as manager of the hospital's new cardiovascular operating room. Rotondo managed the start-up of two heart programs in California and, most recently, started the open heart program at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise

John Bauer has been hired as project manager by Harvey & Price, a Eugene provider of heating and air conditioning systems, plumbing and other products for commercial and residential projects. He has more than 18 years of experience.

Kate Salyers has been promoted to commercial banking officer at the Gateway office of Pacific Continental Bank. Salyers has been with the bank since 2004.

Rob Dyke has been hired by Asset Recovery Group, Inc., as regional business development manager for the new Eugene location at 450 Country Club Road, Suite 300. Dyke has more than 14 years of experience in the debt collection and accounts receivable management industry.

Susan Blane has been hired by PeaceHealth as the regional director of market development for clinical institutes. Blane previously served as practice administrator for Oregon Neurosurgery Specialists in Eugene and is a member of the American College of Medical Practice Executives.

Dr. Bruce Ramsey, an internal medicine physician with Apogee Medical Hospitalists in Springfield, has joined the medical staff at McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center.

McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center has achieved the Gold Seal of Approval for health care quality from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the hospital accreditation agency.

Benton-Lane Winery's 2005 pinot gris earned mention in Wine & Spirits magazine's annual buying guide as one of the 100 Best Wines of the year. Wine Spectator magazine included the winery's 2004 estate pinot noir on its list of the top 100 wines of the year worldwide.

Inside GNSS magazine received a Silver Eddie award from Folio: magazine for editorial excellence. Inside GNNS covers GPS and related technologies of the global navigation satellite system.

Mike Moskovitz of Springfield and Steve Woodard of Cottage Grove were appointed to the board of directors of the Oregon Forest Resources Institute by State Forester Marvin Brown. They began their three-year terms on Jan. 1.

Lane Metro Partnership recognized the following companies for their contribution to the local community: Golden Temple, Glory Bee Foods and Grain Millers, for their joint production of a free cereal provided to low-income students in Lane County schools. Hynix Semiconductor Manufacturing America and Tyree Oil Inc., each received an award for economic excellence for their current and planned expansions.

Adam Bernstein, owner of Adam's Place and Luna restaurants, was nominated by the Oregon Restaurant Association to receive the national Cornerstone Humanitarian award for his dedication to community service.

The Laurel Hill Center board elected the following new officers for 2006-07: president, Andy Dinger, loan officer with A-1 Mortgage, Inc.; vice president, Dave Sherrill, retired from the Oregon Employment Department; treasurer, Lana Johnson, with McKenzie Willamette Properties; and secretary, Tom Fauria, a licensed psychologist with Reliant Behavioral Health. Other board members include Dave Burtner, Liz Cawood, Clark Compton, Mary Jane Mori, Roseanne Murranka, Eduardo Sifuentez, Greg Skillman, Victoria Smithweiland and Andrea Vicale.

Shaun Hyland, vice president with John Hyland Construction and a member of the Hyland Business Park, has joined the Northwest Youth Corps board.

Ultimate Fitness, owned by Kathy Stewart-Bronson, has moved to 377 Coburg Road, Suite D. Stewart-Bronson is a certifed and licensed medical and sports massage therapist and personal fitness trainer. She has been in the fitness industry for 16 years.
