Jones & Roth, P.C., a CPA and business consulting firm with offices in Eugene, Bend and Hillsboro, has announced several staff changes. Cathi McNutt, CPA, has become a shareholder after 10 years with the firm. She divides her time between the Eugene and Hillsboro offices. Nicholas Lawlor, CPA, has been promoted to manager at Jones & Roth. With the firm since 2001, he specializes in auditing and tax issues for nonprofit organizations and low income housing projects as well as taxes for individuals, corporations, limited partnerships, and government agencies. Gerri Couper has been hired as a staff accountant at Jones & Roth. She is a graduate of Oregon State University with degrees in accounting and computer science. Faith Quimby, CPA, has been hired as a senior accountant. She has four years of assurance and tax experience with small businesses.

Lesa Hill, a graduate of the physician assistant program at Duke University, has joined The Fertility Center of Oregon. She specializes in diagnosis and treatment of infertility in conjunction with Dr. Doug Austin.

Moss Adams LLP has hired four new employees in its Eugene office. Cathy Bagner has joined the firm as a staff accountant. She has a master's degree in taxation San Diego State University. Anjela Clarke joined the firm as a staff accountant. She graduated from Chapman University and has worked for Lesley, Thomas, Schwarz & Postma in Los Angeles. Kate Miles, a recent graduate of the University of Oregon, has joined the firm as a staff accountant. Maureen Speer has joined the firm as a technician. She worked previously for a CPA in Florence.

Jim Underwood has joined Cox & Associates, LLC, in Eugene as an associate attorney. A 2001 graduate from the University of Oregon Law School and a former staff attorney at Southern Oregon Public Defender Services, Armstrong will continue to focus his practice on criminal defense cases, as well as juvenile law and defense and services in real estate transactions and litigation.

Travis White has been named business development officer at SELCO Community Credit Union. He has worked at SELCO for more than seven years, most recently in the member business services division.

Schirmer, Schlesinger + Associates Land Use Planning, Site Design, and Landscape Architecture Inc. has hired two new associates. Michael Sanchez has 10 years of professional experience in landscape architecture. Annie Loe is new to the landscape architecture profession with just over a year of practical experience.

The Molecular Probes division of Invitrogen in Eugene has hired two new scientists. Bruce Branchaud has been hired as global chemistry leader. He spent more than 20 years as a chemistry professor at the University of Oregon, where he was a chemistry professor, associate member of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Materials Science Institute, and director of the Master of Science Internship Program in Organometallics and Organic Synthesis. Chockalingam Palaniappan is the new vice president of research and development. He previously worked at GE Healthcare/Amersham, where he held numerous leadership roles in a variety of technology areas, including molecular diagnostics, gene expression and genetic variation, and protein microarray development, genomics reagents, and protein engineering and enzymology.

Rags Connection is the new name for the business formerly known as Rags to Riches. The business, located at 1212 Willamette St. in Eugene, is owned by Kirk Olson and buys and consigns quality and trendy women's clothing.
