BUSINESS AS USUAL FOR THE FONTAINEBLEAU HILTON RESORT & SPA
 NEXT WEEK
MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The Fontainebleau Hilton Resort and Spa expects to open its doors next week. Sustaining minor damage during Hurricane Andrew, the hotel is in the process of cleaning up debris and preparing the hotel to reopen.
The hotel's lobby area, public meeting space and restaurants sustained no damage. There was some very minor water damage in the basement, the garage and some isolated guests rooms.
"We were very fortunate that we escaped the storms brunt," said Leo Salom, general manager for the hotel. "We are looking forward to reopening next week and continuing business as usual," he continued.
Hotel executives weathered the storm in the hotel and said they were very safe in such a strong structure. All hotel guests were evacuated from the property, following instructions of Dade County emergency services, prior to the storm. "We are one of the few places on Miami Beach that never lost water and only lost power for approximately 6 hours," Salom said.
"Miami Beach and the Fontainebleau Hilton were very lucky and fortunate the damage was minimal during Hurricane Andrew," Salom concluded.
