BUS SHELTER; 100 VINTAGE VEHICLES HIT THE ROAD: Pair do up coaches in massive garage.Byline: MARION SCOTT THEY are Scotland's answer to On The Buses' Stan Butler and Blakey. Now Alistair Ramsay and Ian Short are to bring the classic show to life for thousands of new passengers. The pair have spent 10 years tinkering with more than 100 vintage vehicles in a huge garage in Bridgeton, Glasgow Bridgeton (often pronounced Brig-ton rather than Bridge-ton) is a district to the south-east of Glasgow city centre. It is bounded by Glasgow Green to the west, Dalmarnock to the east and south and Calton to the north-west at Abercrombie Street/ London Road. . Tomorrow the buses will take passengers from the city centre to Tall Ship The Glenlee to mark the vessel's 1913 round-the-world voyage. Former anti-drugs campaigner Alistair, 62, of Glasgow, said: "I was fascinated by buses as a boy and I still get the biggest thrill sitting behind the wheel or renovating them." Alistair and engineer Ian, 62, of Bearsden, near Glasgow, work all day panel-beating, spraypainting and fitting parts. Alistair added: "We get spare parts from as far afield as Australia, scrapyards and eBay. "We even have the 1922 wooden bus used in the original Dr Finlay's Casebook A printed compilation of judicial decisions illustrating the application of particular principles of a specific field of law, such as torts, that is used in Legal Education to teach students under the Case Method system. TV series." The pair also have a 1920s tram and an old Army Green Goddess fire tender. The free buses leave George Square at 10am.
