BURRUS NAMED PRESIDENT OF MULTIMEDIA CABLEVISION

 GREENVILLE, S.C., April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael C. Burrus, executive vice president of Multimedia Cablevision Company, has been elected president of the division. He succeeds Donald D. Sbarra, who was named chairman of Multimedia Cablevision.
 The two promotions were announced today by J. William Grimes, president and chief executive officer of Multimedia, Inc., (NASDAQ-NMS: MMEDC) the parent company, who said: "During the last 12 years, Don Sbarra has driven the growth, innovation and achievements of Multimedia Cablevision. He has also developed and nurtured a group of sophisticated managers. I am delighted that in his new role as chairman, Don will continue to work closely with our Cable division, and with me on a variety of industry issues."
 Grimes went on to say, "Mike Burrus has emerged as the best manager and leader of this group of cable executives and he is eminently prepared to assume leadership of Multimedia Cablevision at this challenging time."
 Multimedia Cablevision is based in Wichita, Kan., and includes Multimedia Security Service. The two operations serve more than 412,000 basic subscribers in 140 cable television franchises in five states, and over 38,000 security alarm customers.
 Mike Burrus joined Multimedia Cablevision in 1981 as chief controller. He was promoted to chief financial officer in 1982, and named vice president of operations and finance in 1985. In March 1992, he was appointed executive vice president, assuming responsibility for all Multimedia cable and security operations.
 Burrus is a 1977 graduate of Wichita State University. He serves on the board of directors of several cable trade associations and is active in a number of local charitable, educational and religious organizations. He and his wife, Kathy, reside in Wichita with their four children.
 Don Sbarra joined Multimedia in 1981 after the company purchased the cable television interest of Kansas State Network, where he had been president and CEO since 1967. Sbarra was an executive with KSN for over 25 years and, under his direction, the network expanded from a single television station to a corporation with three divisions. Sbarra will continue to serve on the board of directors of Multimedia, Inc.
 Multimedia Cablevision is one of four operating divisions of Multimedia, Inc., a diversified me 11 daily and 49 non-daily newspapers; owns and operates five television stations, eight radio stations and a video production company; and produces and syndicates quality television programming, including Donahue, Sally Jessy Raphael, Jerry Springer and Rush Limbaugh, The Television Show.
