Senior running back Joe Wiggan scored the game's first three touchdowns with runs of 5, 3 and 7 yards to give Burroughs (3-1, 1-0) a 21-0 lead before the start of the second quarter.

He finished with eight carries for 73 yards and three scores.

``We do need to work on some things,'' he said. `` But we came out with the win, even though we could have played better.''

Burroughs junior quarterback Corey Howard finished 7 of 14 for 189 yards and two touchdowns, both in the second half.

Howard connected with Jonathan Knutson for a 4-yard score and hit Dominic McKinnie with a 70-yard touchdown pass, but also had numerous passes that were dropped.

``We weren't happy with the dropped ball,'' Knoop said. ``In the first half, we didn't play as polished as we wanted to.''
