BURROUGHS HIGH STUDENT BOWLS PERFECT 300 GAME.

Byline: DIANA PEYTON Community Columnist

Anthony Allen Ramos recently rolled a perfect 300 game in the Saturday Juniors Bowling League at Pickwick Bowl - yet another accomplishment for the Burbank teen.

The 18-year-old Burroughs High School student has been bowling for eight years, six in leagues at Pickwick, but he also makes time for studies as an honors student and to care for his 73-year-old grandmother.

Elizabeth Allen, also a resident of Burbank, receives regular visits from her grandson.

``It's like sunshine comes in the house when he walks in,'' said his grandmother, who is bedridden bed·rid·den or bed·rid

after suffering a stroke three years ago. ``He was born a gentlemen and he has a beautiful heart. I think he is a gift from God.''

The teen said he makes his grandmother a priority. ``I look at it this way: When I was little, she took care of me. I love spending time with her. We have a good relationship,'` he said.

Ramos, who was recently inducted into the National Honor Society The National Honor Society (NHS), established in 1921, is a recognition program for American high school students who show achievement in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. , is a three-year member of the California Scholarship Federation Started in 1921 by Charles F. He is also a pianist, taking lessons from Leola Miller of Van Nuys and giving recitals for the past 10 years, and working part time at LAgraphico in Burbank.

For Anthony, activity seems to motivate the teen. ``It actually helps me to be so busy,'' he said.

And the teen said bowling has helped him academically. ``I have learned dedication and determination by repeating shots in practice to do well,'' he said.

Anthony has also been a competitor in two Team U.S.A. Bowling Finals for the past three years, vying for a place in the national competition, and also competes in the Junior Amateur Tour.

Finalists have been named in the Music Center of Los Angeles' Spotlight Awards Visual Arts Competition, with exhibits by students to appear in two locations this month.
