BURNED MAN ARRESTED IN ARSON CASE.

 on suspicion of attempted murder In the criminal law, attempted murder is committed when the defendant does an act that is more than merely preparatory to the commission of the crime of murder and, at the time of these acts, the person has a specific intention to kill.  by arson at a Valencia town house, sheriff's officials said.

Sheriff's deputies said Nathaniel Garner of Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  burned his legs while setting fire to a porch and a front door of the town house in the 24100 block of Delmonte Drive shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday, deputies said.

An off-duty California Highway Patrol officer who lives in the neighborhood said he saw a man running from the flames and chased him through the housing complex, officials said, but the suspect got away.

Sheriff's deputies futilely searched the complex.

Twelve hours later, Garner was arrested at a Denny's restaurant in Newhall.

``He matched the description of our suspect,'' Nordskog said. ``He had no idea where he was. He was two miles away and was confused.

``He had admitted to coming up here to do the job. This individual did not know the victim,'' Nordskog said.

Garner was being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility The Twin Towers Correctional Facility, also referred to in the media as Twin Towers Jail, is a complex erected in Los Angeles, California to house inmates of the Los Angeles County Courts. It is the world’s largest jail.  in lieu of $1 million bail, officials said.

Officials were searching for three other suspects.
