BURLINGTON ANNOUNCES CONTINUED ONSHORE DRILLING SUCCESS.HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 31, 1998--Burlington Resources (NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :BR) today announced successful completion of three onshore south Louisiana exploration discoveries and one development well. Three of the wells are currently producing and one is planned to commence production early in the second quarter of 1998. The LL&E Fee No. 2 well at Lake Des Allemands Field located in St. Charles Parish was drilled to a total vertical depth of 11,732 feet and encountered two gas sands with 38 feet of total net pay. Upon test, the well flowed 12.4 million cubic feet of gas per day (MMCFD) and 600 barrels of condensate condensate, matter in the form of a gas of atoms, molecules, or elementary particles that have been so chilled that their motion is virtually halted and as a consequence they lose their separate identities and merge into a single entity. per day (BCPD BCPD Baltimore County Police Department (Baltimore, Maryland) BCPD Bay City Police Department (Bay City, Michigan) ) at 3,270 PSI flowing tubing pressure. The prospect location was generated through interpretation of a 92 square mile three-dimensional (3-D) seismic survey conducted over LL&E fee lands near Des Allemands, Louisiana Des Allemands is a census-designated place and town in south-eastern Louisiana. The town is along the Bayou Des Allemands, which is the boundary of Lafourche Parish and St. Charles Parish. The town of Des Allemands, consequently, has portions in both parishes. in 1994. BR is the operator of the well with a 50 percent working interest and a 55 percent net revenue interest. Partners include Goodrich Energy, L.P., a privately held Houston based exploration and production company, with a 25 percent working interest, and DDD DDD Direct Distance Dialing DDD Digital/Digital/Digital (audio CD format, recording/mixing/mastering) DDD Degenerative Disc Disease DDD Domain Driven Design DDD Data Display Debugger (GNU Project) Energy, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Seitel Inc. (NYSE:SEI), which also has a 25 percent working interest. In Caillou Island Field, located in Terrebonne Parish, the State Lease 301 No. 393, operated by Texaco, was drilled to a total depth of 17,850 feet and encountered multiple exploratory and field pay horizons with 150 feet of total net pay. The well was placed on production at a rate of 8.8 MMCFD and 850 BCPD at 4,900 PSI flowing tubing pressure. BR has a 50 percent working interest and 44 percent net revenue interest. Texaco has the remaining 50 percent working interest. In Plaquemines Parish, another exploratory well has been successfully drilled in the Bastian Bay Field. The LL&E Fee No. 32, operated by Phillips, was drilled to a total depth of 11,039 feet and logged 44 feet of total net gas pay. The well contributed to sales at a rate of 4.6 MMCFD and 108 BCPD at 2,700 PSI flowing tubing pressure. This development potential was identified as a result of deep exploratory activity in the field.
