BURGLARY RING SUSPECTS HELD THEFTS ALLEGEDLY FED DRUG ADDICTIONS.

Five burglary suspects were in custody Monday, accused of stealing up to $200,000 worth of computer and medical equipment from northwest San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

The suspects, who operated out of Granada Hills to fuel their reported methamphetamine methamphetamine (mĕth'ămfĕt`əmēn): see amphetamine; methedrine.  habits, were being held at Valley jails on suspicion of receiving stolen property, police said.

Police credited a video surveillance camera as a key to cracking the case.

``It all snapped into focus,'' said Detective Ed Dorroh of the Los Angeles Police Department's Devonshire Division.

The first break-in was recorded in June at a medical office in Granada Hills. In August, the burglary suspects allegedly broke into Haskell Avenue Elementary School elementary school: see school.  in Granada Hills.

``They were taking these kids' tools that they need to learn,'' said Dorroh. ``My wife's a schoolteacher. So for me, it's personal.''

The suspects were identified as Brian Mosley, 38, a transient; brothers Eric Houser, 23, and Kevin Houser Kevin J. Houser (born August 23, 1977 in Westlake, Ohio) is an American football Long snapper/fullback for the New Orleans Saints of the NFL. High School Years

, 26, of Granada Hills; Carlos Martinez, 38, of Granada Hills; and Steve Palmer Stephen L Palmer (born Brighton Suffolk 31 March 1968) was a footballer who played in England in the 1980s and 1990s with Ipswich Town, Watford FC and QPR.

Steve signed for QPR from Watford in July 2001 and made his debut in August of that year in the 1-0 win against Stoke
 Small, 45, of Lancaster.

Their bail amounts ranged from $32,000 to no bail for Martinez, who was held because of an invalid tourist visa.
