BURGLARS PICKED THE WRONG HOUSE : TEEN INSIDE CALLS 911; 2 SUSPECTS ARRESTED.

Sheriff's deputies arrested two men on suspicion of burglary Friday after a 15-year-old Saugus boy, home sick from school, called 911 and alerted authorities.

The teen was asleep alone in the house when he heard knocking shortly before noon at the front door of his home on Haskell Canyon Road near Falling Star falling star: see meteor.  Lane, sheriff's Deputy Cortland Myers said.

Within minutes of the 11:50 a.m. call, Myers arrived at the house, where he spotted two men running into the dry Bouquet Creek, he said. The two men, identified as Bryan Caruana, 22, of Saugus and Michael Carter, 21, of Sun Valley were booked on suspicion of burglary and were being held at the Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  sheriff's station in Newhall. The two are scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Newhall Municipal Court.

The deputy said the teen-ager's quick thinking helped authorities arrest the pair.

He should be commended for ``calling the Sheriff's Department immediately as soon as he heard scraping and shattering sounds and not confronting those two,'' Myers said.
